Acadian Monitoring Services Achieves UL 2050 Certification
AMS has received the highest designation for central station monitoring from Underwriters Laboratories.
The 2050 National Industrial Security System monitoring certificate allows Acadian to monitor facilities operated by government contractors and integrators who are engaged in security system installations for which a National Industrial Security System certificate has been issued by the Department of Homeland Security or Secret Service.
The certification process started over a year ago where training, documentation, and infrastructure upgrades occurred, followed by a six-hour audit by a U.L. inspector. AMS had to prove redundancy failover, disaster recovery contingency procedures, and automation integrity by running all servers and hardware independent of commercial power from our newly implemented UPS system.
Nick Bearb, Matt Jimenez, and Melissa Compton then participated in a forensic investigations scenario where a breach in a top security clearance area occurred. Their extensive knowledge in security protocols enabled us to properly handle and address the situation and we passed all aspects of the application process.
There are over 3,000 U.L. listed central stations in the U.S. with less than ten being certified as 2050. AOW is now listed with DHS and U.L. as having achieved this prestigious status.
